I have been a fan of LEGOs since I was kid. I loved building all types of giant structures and then knocking them down with a very loud crash. This would usually cause our dogs and cats to go scurrying from the room as fast as their little paws would take them.
This is why I was so excited when I first saw the Creationary types of games. Just recently I saw a post about how LEGO is throwing its hat into the RPG ring with their pseudo RPG-like games. Not a lot is known about the games except that they will include an inventory system, the combat system will be dice and inventory based, and the boards/maps will all be interchangeable and when you buy multiple games you can add them together.
There are four games currently planned and should be coming out in August of 2011.
Draida Bay – A water based adventures that includes a waterfall and bridge to cross.
Fortaan – A castle based adventure with locked doors and keys to open them.
Nathuz – An underground cave based adventure that includes giant bats.
Waldurk – a forest themes adventure with a windy path infested with giant spiders.
So far the games look very basic but that is what LEGO does best. None of the games they have released so far have been very intricate but they are still a lot of fun. This looks like it may be a good bit of lighthearted adventuring fun for the family. I can’t wait to get copies of the games and see how they work.
